His job consumed him . . . he liked it that way . . . meetings, deadlines and a variety of pressures energized him. He went from one big project to the next. It was how he lived.
A few months ago, life changed . . . a sudden change . . . caused by a severe injury . . . creating unthinkable challenges. Nothing is the same. He is unable to care for himself. The future is unknown. The thing is . . . his attitude is remarkable . . . I mean remarkable . . . he is grateful . . . honestly grateful. His philosophy is simple:
“Don’t be held hostage by your circumstances. Thank God for what you have where you are today.”
How is it possible to be grateful in the midst of adversity? How do we refuse to be hostage to worry . . . to anxiety . . . and ultimately to fear?
Simply put: Acknowledge that God will never leave or fail you . . . never. NEVER!
NEVER!
As hard as it is . . . we need to intentionally take our eyes off the "stuff" of life to the presence of God:
Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money
[including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions]
and be satisfied with your present
[circumstances and with what you have];
for He [God] Himself has said,
I will not in any way fail you
nor give you up
nor leave you without support.
[I will] not,
[I will] not,
[I will] not
in any degree leave you helpless
nor forsake
nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)!
[Assuredly not!]
(Hebrews 13:5, Amplified)
God will never leave you . . . fail you . . . or . . . take away His grip on you. NEVER!
Refuse to be held hostage.

Consciously be aware of God's grip on you.
Be grateful.
Give thanks for the relentless grip of love that God has on you.

Learning with you to KICK START the day
. . . intentionally focusing on God.
