What Are You Thinking?

One of my favorite stories from US history occurred on October 30, 1938.  People were listening to a radio drama that was interrupted by a news alert, which announced that aliens from Mars had invaded the New England states.  People were crazed with fear as they listened to the report of violence and killings.
The thing is . . . it was adapted from the book, War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells.  The announcer, Orson Welles, had the idea to present the story on the radio through actors playing the parts of radio announcers, newscasters, and scientists that reported from different locations.  No one could have predicted the mass panic that occurred as a result of trying to increase ratings.
It seems ridiculous now . . . however . . . the media continues to be ratings-driven, striving to impact the way the world thinks.
The way we think . . . is the way we live.  What forms your thoughts?
Study Romans 12:2. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of  your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which  is good and acceptable and perfect (NASB)
Meditate on the word, conform (suschematizo, Greek) which means to conform to a specific pattern. Of course that requires the willingness to change the way we think . . . there must be a clear commitment and willingness to put in hard work.
Look at Joshua . . . he had a clear mindset . . . that regardless of problems . . . they would enter the Promised Land because God promised:  It was time . . . to live in the promise of God . . . they had to have transformed thinking . . . disconnected from fear . . . connected to the plan of God . . . so they could move forward.  This required a refusal to think of all the reasons that it would not work.  It meant they must be believe God, not just believe in God.
Their thoughts of belief produced action. They began to get ready to go . . . At the end of three days the officers went through the midst of the camp. Joshua 3:2
They thought beyond
problems,
pressures,
and impossibilities.
What are you thinking?
Let go of thoughts that are conformed to this world . . . fear . . . worry . . . hopelessness.  Ask the Spirit of God to transform your thoughts into belief.
Ask the Spirit of God to  help you understand the way you think.
Be encouraged in the process. God will provide the power to think more effectively which produces life-changing results.

Learning with you to KICK START the day with thoughts of belief.
