Friends have decorated for Christmas inside and outside . . . already . . . they began the process two months before Christmas day. A little over the top wouldn’t you say?
I said it.
But, my friend explained that she grew up in an angry home.
Decorations remind her that she can have a home of joy regardless of her past. She was helpless as a child; however, as an adult she received the strength to pursue a life of joy. And . . . she shares the joy with others by inviting them into her home.
The Apostle Paul wrote the Church at Philippi a letter while he was imprisoned, joyful because his life centered on the presence of Christ. He said:
. . . Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Philippians 2:2
Joy comes through an active-ongoing-engaged-relationship with Christ, which changes our perspective of life.
We see possibility rather than impossibility . . .
a new beginning rather than a dead-end . . .
freedom rather than oppression.
a new beginning rather than a dead-end . . .
freedom rather than oppression.
Pray: Joy . . . because of You .
Joy is a choice that changes the way we live on a daily basis.
Learning with you to KICK START the day . . . with joy,
Pastor Kerrie
