Intention

They blamed it on their schedule.  Their days were so packed that they had failed to pay attention to what mattered.  Life ended up in a chaotic mess.

The thing is . . . if, we fail to be intentional with the life we are given  . . .  then, we will fail to live the life God has intentionally planned for us.

We are created to be intentional.  Joshua gave intentional directions as he prepared the people to enter into the place God had promised the people to live in: Joshua said to the priests, "Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people." So they took it up and went ahead of them. Joshua 3:6

Why did Joshua tell the priests to take the ark and pass on ahead of the people?
The ark served as the symbol of God’s presence guiding the people and significant in crossing the Jordan River.
While we know we need to be guided by God, we often go ahead of Him without knowing where we are to go.  Put simply, we tend to be more focused on what is happening with ourselves than on where God is going.

So . . .
It requires intention to follow God rather than to go ahead of Him.
It requires intention to engage and participate in the plan of God rather than in our own plans.
It requires intention to take ground and live in the place of life which God has intentionally planned.

Following God means that we must stop . . . look . . . and listen.
Slow down.  Become aware of the presence and activity of God.
Breathe. Let distracting thoughts go. Center your attention on God.

Learning with you to KICK START the day with intention.
