I have
friends that climb mountains wherever they can find a mountain. A mountain is
not a mountain to them; it is a goal to be achieved. They sweat and struggle in
their pursuit of making it to the top. It isn't that I don't enjoy the pursuit
of goals . . . but when it comes to mountains . . . I would prefer to well . .
. stroll. My idea of a great mountain adventure is finding a sunny spot along
the pathway to read and think. While my friends are equipped with ascenders,
rope grabs, and rappel devices for the perfect climb; I like to bring a mug of
coffee and a book in anticipation of finding the perfect spot.
In some ways this is life. When it comes down to it, we all face circumstantial mountains in our life. Some of the mountains seem insurmountable while other mountains appear to be doable with the right equipment. Climbing life's mountains requires specific strategizing and goal setting. At the same time, along the way we need to take note of where we are and where we are going by taking time to stop and understand that the strength of God shifts everything in our life, enabling us to climb each and every mountain.

I like how
the Psalmist explains it:
1-2 I look up to the mountains; does my strength
come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.
3-4 He won't let you stumble,
your Guardian God won't fall asleep.
Not on your life! Israel's
Guardian will never doze or sleep. Psalm 121:1-3

The way we
manage our life shifts when we open up our heart, mind, and soul to the
strength of God. Regardless of the size of the mountain . . . we are able
to manage it . . . by receiving His strength.
How is it
possible to face and climb each mountain and make each summer day count?
Lift up
your eyes and see.
Broaden your perspective. Get a bigger picture. Experience
the strength of God.
Move forward through the strength of God, empowered to climb every mountain, knowing He won’t let you stumble. Celebrate each mountain that is climbed.
