Do Life Together . .. Make Your Summer Days Count

Our family went to the Oregon coast to relax together.  Little Madelyn had her first experience of seeing the ocean and feeling the sand beneath her feet.   

The thing is . . . 

her first time on the beach was not what we had hoped . . . 

the wind took all of her attention . . . 

as it blew sand  . . . 

and eventually pushed her down.   

We picked her up, laughed, cheered, and took her back to the safety of the beach house.  It was a very quick first glimpse of the beach for her; however, I think Madelyn enjoyed it because we were doing life together.

 

At the end of the day, I have learned that life is about doing it together.  Jesus modeled it for us. 

John specifically wrote that Jesus went to Capernaum for a few days with those closest to him: After this he went down to Capernaum along with his mother, brothers, and disciples, and stayed several days (John 2:12).  

 

The thing is . . . Jesus spent a significant amount of ministry time in Capernaum, located on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee, however, John refers to the specific time Jesus gave to His inner circle.  So.  We need to pay attention and know it is  important for our own life when it comes to what has been written about Jesus in the Scriptures.  It is clear that Jesus valued doing life together. 

 

If, we believe that as Christ followers we are to do as Jesus did, then, we to must put time aside to do life together with our inner circle.

   

We are now 50 days away from Labor Day.  Will we choose to do what Jesus did and do life together with our inner circle to make each day count?

Make the next 50 days count.
Set some days apart to invest with your inner circle.
Do life together.
