Heart-pounding moments occur when we risk in faith.
Yesterday I experienced one of those moments.
As I came climbed
a hill on a two-lane highway, the thought came to me to move over to
the shoulder. Was the thought from God?
The thing is . . . I
travel the road often . . . and have never had that thought before.
But.
I did have the thought.
So.
I moved to the side just in time to see a car passing a semi-truck coming towards me in my lane.
Our vehicles just missed crashing head on since I had already moved to the side of the road.
. . . my heart pounded as I thought of the what if's . . .
what if I would not have pulled off the road . . .
what if we had crashed . . . what if . . . ?
But.
I did have the thought.
So.
I moved to the side just in time to see a car passing a semi-truck coming towards me in my lane.
Our vehicles just missed crashing head on since I had already moved to the side of the road.
. . . my heart pounded as I thought of the what if's . . .
what if I would not have pulled off the road . . .
what if we had crashed . . . what if . . . ?
Have you ever
experienced the heart-pounding moment of believing God when it does not make
sense?
Study Joshua. He believed God would provide
a way to go into the Promised Land. He had wanted to for forty years.
He
waited, wandering the desert with individuals who could not believe God
would protect and provide for their needs to go in to the Promise Land.
Forty years!
Can you imagine how his heart pounded when he realized he had come to the moment he had believed would occur?
Joshua had prepared the people to take hold of faith and move forward. And, then . . . the time came to enter in . .
. a heart-pounding moment for all of the people. It didn’t
make sense that the people could safely cross the Jordan River at the flooding
stage.
But . . . Joshua had prepared them through faith.
Joshua
listened to God and understood by faith that the river water would heap up. The
people not only had to believe, but had to make the decision to take action. No doubt all hearts
pounded as the people left their tents to cross the Jordan: So when the people set out from the comfort
of their tents to cross the Jordan with the priests carrying the ark of the
covenant before the people, Joshua 3:14
When the heart pounding moment comes . . .
Look. Focus on God rather than the circumstance.
Listen and go where God says to go.
Proceed as your heart pounds and you take a risk of faith.
The question will be . . . what if you don't proceed?
Learning with
you to KICK START the day taking the risk in heart-pounding
moments..
