Life Gets Hard

It's hard to believe anything ever will be okay when we are going through a major crisis.  And, yet, I have watched people make their way through the worst of things and find a way to be healthy and whole.  The process begins with one step at a time  . . . that step is turning to God.

Jeremiah wrote the book of Lamentations while the people were in a tragic exile. I like how The Message translates his writing about prayer:
When life is heavy and hard to take,
 go off by yourself.
Enter the silence.
Bow in prayer.
Don't ask questions:
 Wait for hope to appear.
Don't run from trouble.
Take it full-face.
The "worst" is never the worst. (Lamentations 3: 28-30, The Message)

The thing is . . . the worst of life occurs when we fail to know that God is present . . .  and miss out participating with Him.  Hope, authentic hope, appears when we go to God and work out our life through Him.

When life gets hard . . . look . . . see the presence of God . . . give your life to Him.

Learning to Kick Start the day by turning to God.
