Awareness

Sign up for a daily Christmas meditation:
Expectation . . . Advent 2009

A cold wind blew over us yesterday causing the power to go out during our church services.  There was a sense of something magical when candles were lit throughout the building.  It was as if the candles symbolized the light of Christ.  The thing is . . . humanity is surrounded by the presence of Christ; however, it is easy to respond to life as if Christ is not present or in control.
Awareness of the presence, power, and peace of Christ changes the perception of life and ultimately how life is managed. The Apostle Paul writes of a living a life in Christ in the book of Philippians.  In Philippians 3:1 the word, finally, (3062) (loipon from loipós = remaining) is used to indicate a transition in the message telling the readers: Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.

When we rejoice . . .
we are aware of the presence of God and engage in the joy of knowing Christ
and being in Christ . . .
we find that  our emotions, thought process, and perception changes . . .
which changes  the atmosphere around us.

Breathe.
Recognize the presence of God.
Be aware of His presence . . . His power . . . His peace.
Be at peace.

Learning with you to KICK START the day . . . in the presence of Christ.

Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:7
