Seeing More

Labor Day Weekend marks the end of summer living and the beginning of fall schedules in our area of the world.   As many holidays go in the Pacific Northwest, stormy weather is in the forecast for this weekend; however, true Oregonians will pursue their end- of-summer plans . . . camping . . . outdoor sports . . . and backyard get-togethers.  After all, there is more to the weekend than the weather conditions.

When you get down to it . . .  developing the discipline to see more than the stormy conditions of life . . . is a vital component to healthy living.  Faith allows us to see more; however, choosing to see through faith is more than a one-time choice.  Faith by sight requires a repetitive choice in each circumstance.  An individual's sight through faith will become stronger through exercising it.

The first three verses of Hebrews 11 discuss how to see through faith:
1 Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
2 Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.
3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.

The key to seeing through faith is the belief that the power of God is so incredible, that with one command the entire universe was formed.  The initial steps to seeing through faith include:
1. Intentional awareness of God.
2. Recognition that God is at work.
3.  Belief that God is always doing something more than what can initially be seen.

Take time today:

Stop.
Look.  See today through the eyes of faith. See the presence of God.
Remember  the universe was formed at God's command.
Acknowledge the power of God.
Believe God will shift the details of the universe to set His plan into place.  God is always doing something more!

Pray:  God give me eyes of faith!
Learning with you to KICK START the day
 . . . intentionally seeing through faith,
